“I love that making art can take me down winding paths, and if I let it take me far enough, perhaps I will find something unexpected around the last bend.

Working on this set of images, I’ve been caught up with thoughts of rivers and movement, and the tale of a place and time.  A small seed pod catches my eye, then the fishing line next to me makes its graceful arc over our heads, and all the while water winds its way downstream and clouds wisp on above us” -Hannah Viano

Artist and illustrator, Hannah Viano, works with an x-acto knife and sheets of black paper to carve out striking, modern, images distilled down from her impressions of the land and features of her home ground, as well as those collected on travels far and wide.
